Gerald Light Letter – Smoking Gun – April 16, 1954

Background

 

Gerald Light, also known under the pseudonym Dr. Kappa, was an American occultist and saucerian, commonly noted for his 1954 letter to Meade Layne on the subject of his alleged two-day tour to Muroc AFB (now Edwards), in which he reported witnessing “five separate and distinct types of aircraft being studied and handled by our Air Force officials — with the assistance and permission of the “Etherians,” and further claimed that then President Dwight Eisenhower had likewise interacted with the Etherians. Previous to this letter, Light had written several articles for Meade Layne’s “Round Robin” and published his own mimeographs, claiming psychic contacts with Etherians and detailing a highly occult-influenced cosmology of Etheria.1

Meade Layne (1882-1961)

Meade Layne (Sep 8, 1882 - May 12, 1961)

In the months preceding the end of hostilities in the Second World War, teacher and academic Meade Layne joined with Max Freedom Long and others to form an association of spiritualists and parapsychologists, New Thought writers and Theosophical thinkers, in Southern California. They called their field of research “the borderlands” of science, those murky areas where quanta overlap with spirit, where changes in consciousness force the very essence of being to be questioned. The goal was to liberally study, review, and report on the discarded or uncommon strands of science and philosophy, often relying on unorthodox means and sources.

They were Borderland Sciences Research Associates, and their legacy is not forgot, near 70 years later. Reflecting on his times and his work, we believe it fair to suggest that Layne was situated at a perfect confluence of forces, and that he navigated these with considered coolness and deftness of wit, leaving behind him a potent legacy that demands to be tapped by those who sincerely seek after the truths of spirit. All students – occult, saucerian, or otherwise – will readily find something worth their while in exploring it.

Background on Etheria

Layne speculated that, rather than representing advanced military or extraterrestrial technology, flying saucers were piloted by beings from a parallel dimension, which he called Etheria, and their “ether ships” were usually invisible but could be seen when their atomic motion became slow enough. He further claimed that Etherians could become stranded on the terrestrial plane when their ether ships malfunctioned, and that various governments were aware of these incidents and had investigated them.

Furthermore, Layne argued that Etherians and their ether ships inspired much of earth’s mythology and religion, but that they were truly mortal beings despite having a high level of technological and spiritual advancement. He claimed that their motive in coming to the terrestrial plane of existence was to reveal their accumulated wisdom to humanity. These revelations would be relayed through individuals with sufficiently developed psychic abilities,
allowing them to contact the Etherians and communicate with them directly;

My dear Friend: I have just returned from Muroc [Edwards Airforce Base]. The report is true—devastatingly true!

I made the journey in company with Franklin Allen of the Hearst Papers and Edwin Mourse of Brookings Institute (Truman’s erstwhile financial adviser) and Bishop MacIntyre of LA. (confidential names, for the president, please.)

When we were allowed to enter the restricted section, (after about six hours) in which we were checked on every possible item, event, incident and aspect [handwritten star and arrow pointing to this word, end of sentence] of our personal and public lives) I had the distinct feeling that the world had come to an end with fantastic realism.1 For I have never seen so many human beings in a state of complete collapse and confusion as they realized that their own world had indeed ended with such finality as to a beggar description.2 The reality of “otherplane” aeroforms3 is now and forever removed from the realms of speculation and made a rather painful part of the consciousness of every responsible scientific and political group.4

During my two days visit5 I saw five separate and distinct types of aircraft6 being studied and handled by our airforce officials—with the assistance and permission of the Etherians!7 I have no words to express my reactions.

It has finally happened. It is now a matter of history.8

President Eisenhower, as you may already know, was spirited over to Muroc one night during his visit to Palm Springs recently.9 And it is my conviction that he will ignore the terrific conflict between the various ‘authorities’10 and go directly to the people via radio and television—if the impasse continues much longer.11 From what I could gather, an official statement to the country is being prepared for delivery about the middle of May.12

I will leave it to your own excellent powers of deduction to construct a fitting picture of the mental and emotional pandemonium13 that is now shattering the consciousness of hundreds of our scientific “authorities” and all the pundits of the various specialized knowledges that make up our current physics.

In some instances I could not stifle a wave of pity that arose in my own being as I watched the pathetic bewilderment of rather brilliant brains struggling to make some sort of rational explanation which would enable them to retain their familiar theories and concepts.

And I thanked my own destiny for having long ago pushed me into the metaphysical woods14 and compelled me to find my way out. To watch strong minds cringe before totally irreconcilable aspects of “science” is not a pleasant thing. I had forgotten how commonplace such things as the dematerialization of “solid” objects had become to my own mind. The coming and going of an etheric, or spirit, body has been so familiar to me these many years I had just forgotten that such a manifestation could snap the mental balance of a man not so conditioned.15 I shall never forget those forty-eight hours at Muroc!  [signed] G.L.

POINTS

Point 1 – Distinct Feeling World Came to an End

Of those who attended this event, and perhaps the reason Gerald Light was chosen, was his experience in spiritual things. Therefore, what he “felt” should have merit. The following was written before the event and shows just how spiritually prepared Gerald Light was for the event.

Over the years I have probably written enough pages to make up 30-40 novels.

There is a definite procedure the student of earth MUST follow if he is to touch these new dimensions, these etheric potentials, not only with safety but with practical results. Unquestionably, mystics, yogis, sadhus and students of the Ancient Wisdom have touched those potencies in moments of intense absorption. But few if any have, or seem to have, comprehended just what they touched, and grasped its essentially etheric nature. I recall with amusement the various attempts I made in Shanti Niketan to associate myself with a flower, a butterfly, even a cobra — in order to experience (as I was told I would) the consciousness of these creatures. I once made Samyama on an elephant (with the intention of bringing into my body some of its enormous strength) but only succeeded in having the creature approach me with a suspicious glare in his eye which completely terminated my meditation and ended with me in the flowerbed in a state of total panic. (Possibly the same sort of panic which will overwhelm thousands as they are compelled to realize that when they meet the Saucers and Aeroforms they are meeting the very person and presence of the Beings from the Great Etherian Planes of Mind.)

This is similar to the testimony of Secret Space Whistleblower Jason Rice, who was recruited as a child because he was an Intuitive Empath, which the military needed to “read the environment” in different circumstances. 

They’re looking for that quality [Intuitive Empath] in people because it makes for better soldiers, better operatives. You can walk into a room and pick up on the situation five or six different people all at one time and be able to read the scenario, read the environment. Point 2 – State of Complete Collapse, Confusion, Realized Their World Had Ended

By all accounts, even after 75 years, the populace remains unprepared to encounter something so “otherworldly.” Have all the movies and TV programs helped? Only time will tell. 

Point 3 – Reality of “Otherplane” Aeroforms

It’s not just the shock of seeing an advanced craft, but also the concept of other dimensions, other inhabitable planets, and other races. 

Point 4 – Painful Part of the Consciousness

These people learned that higher consciousness goes with higher technology, which we were (and essentially still are) lacking as designed by our “masters.” 

Point 5 – Two-day Visit

Attendees from outside of the Military were not allowed to take pictures or notes. By reading between the lines, we can infer that numerous discussions took place, and they would have been well-documented by the military. Will we ever have access to that documentation? Let’s hope.

Point 7 – With Assistance & Permission of “Etherians”

The “Etherians,” as Gerald termed them, have also been referred to as “Nordics.” They are humanoid and beautiful like the Watchers and Holy Ones (Dan. 4:17) and not demons masquerading as “angels of light” (2 Cor. 11:14).

Point 8 – Finally Happened – Matter of History

It was 1954; thousands had already reported sightings of UFOs for a decade, and numerous crashed ships had been reported long before the Roswell incident (see Historical).

Point 10 – Terrific Conflict – Different ‘Authorities’

All branches of the military were represented, along with the heads of various sectors of society. They conspired to conceal the truth from the public and prevent a loss of faith in God. A similar stewardship occurred with the Shroud of Turin in 1988, but their team of experts determined not to confirm a belief in God.

It is worth wondering how society would be right now, 70 years later, had Eisenhower’s team chosen to speak the truth, or 37 years later if Shroud experts let the truth ring out.

Point 11 – Go Directly to the Public if the Impasse Continued

This informs us that Eisenhower did not have a preference. He was known for saying, “Just do whatever works.”

Point 12 – Middle of May

The date of the event has been corroborated, as demonstrated by Dr. Salla and others. 

Point 13 – Mental & Emotional Carnage

The belief “society would collapse” has merit. No societal leader would want to lose control of their sector. The religious sector, they believe, would be decimated. Will the overtures made by the Catholic Church help their flock? Should other branches of Christianity follow suit? Should it be included in school curriculum? There’s much that could be done from a historical perspective, if not a modern one.

Point 14 – Pushed Me into the Metaphysical Woods

UFOlogy is no longer strictly tied to the paranormal, though it does seem like a larger demographic of UFO believers do come from that background. It really should come from Bible believers. Slowly, deeper understandings that were once thought to be simple are being disseminated throughout the body of Christ. There needs to be greater efforts, not by the fringe of Christianity.  

Point 15 – Coming & Going of Etheric Spirit Bodies or Persons

The truth about hauntings, demons, the soul, life after death, and other related topics can significantly prepare a person’s mind to accept multi-dimensional beings, such as Extraterrestrials. Because Christians are not united on the particulars of hauntings, demons, the soul, and life after death, we can expect that demographic to be the least prepared for a disclosure.

Summary

Considering the prophecies speak of a coming deceiver before the return of Jesus, the truth of UFOs and Extraterrestrials is paramount in preventing people from being deceived.
